The new Volvo XC40 – A bold combination of style and technology

First launched in 2019, the XC40 was Volvo’s smallest SUV. Since then, this entry-level car has become popular for its upscale ambiance, spunky exterior, and excellent performance. Over the years, each new iteration of the luxury subcompact SUV has been a consistent top seller among its competitors in the same class. The all-new Volvo XC40 promises to offer all this and more. Here are some of the crucial things to know about the new XC40.

Changes in the new Volvo XC40
The front-wheel-drive B4 drivetrain has been replaced by the B5 all-wheel-drive as the only choice. However, the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 247 horsepower has been retained.

In addition, the new XC40 has two extra color options: Vapour Grey and Cloud Blue. The entry-level trim, known as Core, has the option of a Bright Exterior theme with shiny trim work highlighting the exteriors. This base model now comes with additional standard features such as keyless entry and wireless phone charging.

The higher level trims, such as the Plus and Ultimate, are also available with options for Bright and Dark Exterior themes. In addition, the Plus trim has a high-tech 360-degree surround-view camera. Other features included in the Plus trim’s standard equipment include a cabin air purifier and a larger set of 19-inch wheels. The Ultimate has an even larger wheel size of 20 inches. Plus, it packs in cornering lights and premium sound systems as standard features.

Pricing
The Volvo XC40 is priced between $41,295 and $50,195. The base model, that is, the Core, is available at $41,295. Next to this, the Plus model sells for around $46,395. Finally, the Ultimate trim is priced at $50,195. The prices may differ slightly depending on the dealership, state of purchase, and applicable deals such as financing offers, lease deals, and rebates.

Safety features
The new Volvo XC40 has tons of driver-assistance tech packed under the hood as part of its standard offerings. These include automated emergency braking, cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot assistance. Individuals looking for a hands-free driving mode can avail of that option in higher trims.

Interiors and cargo
A combination of contemporary Swedish style with functional design, the XC40 is perfect for those looking for a fun yet robust car. The interior cabin is airy and light across all the trims, exuding comfortable luxury. In addition, the seats are roomy with ample leg space. The cargo and storage space is spacious too with a glove box for takeout bags, a useful divider for the cargo area, and a removable garbage bin in the center console.
